Ormond Beach is on the north side and, heading south, we find the cities of Holly Hill, Daytona Beach South Daytona, Daytona Beach Shores, Port Orange and the town of Ponce inlet.

| The Ormond Hotel was one of the largest wooden structures in the world with 11 miles (18 km) of corridors and galleries. It was the site of a great annual art show and I spent a lot of time walking those galleries. | |
| The Ponce de Leon lightstation is at Ponce Inlet south of Daytona Beach. It's the second tallest lighthouse on the U.S. east coats. Even though the light is still in use today the grounds have been restored to their original 1887 state. |
